How Can a Painful Enlarged Calf Muscle be Treated?

My father stated he had an enlarged vein in his calf earlier today. He said it is still painful but has gone down. His leg is slightly swollen and discolored. I know compression stockings may help if this is vein issue but I am concerned because of previous history of blot clots.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hi,

The condition, in my opinion, appears to be deep vein thrombosis and due to which the leg veins are swollen.

Yes, this can cause thromboembolism which is life-threatening. You have to consult a surgeon as early as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
